I have deep roots from Evans/Wenona going back to the 1830's. My earliest
ancestor being Justus Jones (brothers Ira,
Barton). He married Elizabeth Parks in
1846 and they had one daughter, Augusta Jones born there in
1847. Justus died in 1849 and Elizabeth remarried Joshua Evans
whom Evans Township was named for. Elizabeth and Joshua later had one
daughter together, Fannie May Evans, born in 1852. Her
half-sister Augusta (my great grandmother) grew to marry David
Morrison Hall, my great grandfather. Together, they had 10 children
of which my grandfather Samuel Asbury Hall was the 8th
born. I have documents and photos I would dearly love to contribute to your
site. Perhaps along the way, I'll discover some cousins, others photos, or
documents I could add to my tree. I will begin by sharing two obituaries I
obtained from the Marshall County Historical Society many years ago for my
great grandfather David Morrison Hall ("D.M." Hall).

I'm researching our VornHolt family history. A family member years ago
mentioned that Edward D. VornHolt (1861-1902) pastored a
church in Henry IL. They thought the name of the Church was:
Metropolitan Holiness Church. I don't have any other information.
Just wondering if by chance you would have any information on this Church.
I'm thinking it was a non-denominational church and may not even have had a
building. Some family members thought Edward and his wife, Mary were circuit
riders of sort. Sorry I don't have any additional help. Thanking you in
advance.

My great grandfather, Otto BLEULL, immigrated from Germany to Henry, Illinois. I don’t know when he immigrated but I think he married Rosella SCHICKLING in Marshall County as they both died there. Otto died in 1921 in Henry and Rosella died in 1922 in Hopewell Township. It appears Otto and Rosella started a family in Metamora, a neighboring county. It appears my various ancestors lived in counties around Marshall such as Livingston, Woodford and Peoria. I have very little information on Otto and Rosella and if anyone would happen to know anything about this couple, I would be very happy to hear from them or see something posted on this site about them. Thank you. Jane Miscavich jmisky@verizon.net
I am searching for burial records for the Old Salem Cemetery on Sun Road in Marshall County. Several of my ancestors are buried there. I have been there several times and have located some but have not been able to find many of them. I have found my GG Grandmother's obituary from 1912 and some old handwritten papers written by an unknown family member that both say that Old Salem is their final resting place her and 3 of her sons and a few of her step sons. What I have been able to find on the internet about Old Salem has not helped in my search. Do these records actually exist, and if so, where can I find them. Thank You for your time, Dan Davis djdneb1970@outlook.com
Need help looking for my family from the past. John and Mary J. GRAY ... found them in Marshall County, Illinois in 1880. Would like information about them and their children before and after 1880 census. I know they moved 3 times in Marshall County and in 1880 were in Richland Township. ANY little items about them would be great. Thank you for your help and support in my quest. Michael Gray twobeeone2003@yahoo.com Hutto, Texas
