b. 9-15-1803 Barre, VT and d. 3-8-1881 Magnolia, Putnam, IL
Came to Magnolia, IL Sept 20, 1845. In 1876 he was married to Mrs. Lincoln of Streator, IL, who still survives. Owing to the snow blocked roads, his daughters, Mrs. Rich and Mrs. Scott of Wenona, IL, were unable to be present at his dying bedside. But nothing of loving attention was left undone by Oscar Baker who stayed by his father till death came. Charles Baker, Sr, brother of the deceased, was in constant attendance. "The hand will his ways above; that shaped his task below."
