Not Dead. Our old acquaintance, Jer. Ong, who was, several months ago, reported dead and buried, has lately astonished his friends by returning to this city, in his usual good health and condition. He contradicts the rumor of his untimely demise flatly, and furnishes the proof in propria persona.

Obituary. Departed this life, Jan. 25, 1857, Mrs. Aurelia Davis, consort of Dr. Chas. Davis, of this city, after a long and painful disease of the bowels and nursing sore-mouth. Aged 34 years.

Died. In this city, on the 3d instant, of pneumonia, Mr. John Z. Jenkins, aged 47 years, 11 months.
- In Hopewell Township, LaSalle county, Ill. Harriet Lowrey, wife of W. H. Lowrey, formerly resident of this vicinity, and daughter of M. Dorr, Providence.
- On the 27th ult., Rollin Edward, infant son of Charles and Emily Bangs, aged 1 yr 1 m. 3da.
